This video tutorial demonstrates a variation on the method described in the text tutorials above. This one uses Adjustment Layers to simplify the effects pipeline to only one composition per saber. It gives slightly different results, but has it's advantages. This tutorial assumes basic proficiency with After Effects.
LIGHTSABER VIDEO TUTORIALS (BASIC)
Already know your way around Photoshop/After Effects and just need the basic crash course to get started? Look no further. These are video tutorials recorded by myself as I talk you through the process and show you via my screen as I work. If you get lost or confused, consult the appropriate text tutorial above.

A FEW FUN TRICKS YOU CAN DO WITH A STAFF
Not as much a tutorial as an instructional video, here I demonstrate how to do a couple cool things I've picked up in my few years of playing with a staff.
(realistically, this was more of a test for slo-mo than anything else, but people have really found it educational and told me I should host it online for other aspiring staff enthusiasts)
TUTORIALS BY OTHERS
Links to a couple well done tutorials (not by me) that cover some of the other effects I do. (Force-lightning, cloning, etc.)
